The Federal Network Agency in Germany provides frequencies in the range of 3700 MHz to 3800 MHz for local applications. These frequencies are intended to be used in particular for industrial automation in campus networks. The presentation describes experiences on the application procedure and challenges that lay ahead.
Thomas Heutmann has been working for the Federal Network Agency since 1992. In 2000, he took charge of the Section for International Mobile Radio Frequency Coordination and Digital Cellular Networks. From 2005 to 2011, he headed the Section for Satellite Services. Since 2011, he has been Head of the Fixed Service and Aeronautical Service Section This Section is also responsible for processing applications for 5G networks in the frequency bands 3.7-3.8 GHz (campus networks) and 26 GHz.
