Professional Experience:

A career civil servant, James has covered a variety of roles such as employment law, export controls, nuclear security and since 2008, radio spectrum policy. He has worked on the 4G auction (2012-13) and UK Spectrum Strategy (2014) and the Public Sector Spectrum Release Programme (2010-2022) when covering Government spectrum policy and since 2019 he has been in Defence’s spectrum policy team.

Present Activities:

Since joining Ministry of Defence James has worked on policy for different ways MOD could share spectrum with civil users, balancing the economic benefits with protecting our national security capabilities. He has also continued to work on the Public Sector Spectrum Release Programme and on the release of 26GHz spectrum.
